John Parker CPA, CA CEO of Parker Advisory Services Inc. 6347 Argyle Avenue West Vancouver, BC V7W2E5 As an early adopter of Cloud Software Solutions and the former practice leader of Grant Thornton’s National Cloud Accounting Practice, I have a unique understanding of how businesses of all sizes can benefit from automation, digital transformation and cloud-based accounting platforms. I worked with companies to onboard cloud software as a cost-effective way to enhance productivity, drive revenue and improve internal processes. It is rewarding to see clients improve the accuracy of their data and the timeliness of their reporting, resulting in better decision making.  Serving client’s best interests, I draw on my 20 years of experience in the private sector. My background allows me to bring a unique perspective to my clients—one honed by holding roles as diverse as Business Owner, Partner, CFO, VP Finance, Director, Controller, General Manager, Internal Auditor and Chief Security Officer. I bring a deep and varied technical skillset to my clients which gives me a keen understanding of the challenges that owners and businesses face. I proactively look for ways to advocate for my clients and support client business growth, exits and acquisitions. In my community I was previously a CPABC Public Practice Committee Member and served as Director for numerous organizations, including Island Savings Credit Union, where I was Chair of the Audit Committee for over 12 years. I support the Simon Fraser University, Beedie School of Business, Mentors in Business program, where I mentor Business students. Additionally, I currently volunteer with the West Vancouver Foundation as Director and Chair of the Audit and Finance Committee. When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and family, as well as playing golf, hiking and skiing.
